
“Boy, I wish they would just land next to each other once.” That is what I was telling my friend all morning as we photographed this beautiful bald eagle pair.
They were, however, properly focused on tending to their eaglet, making multiple ‘changing of the guard’ as while one kept watch, the other departed to take a break from the child rearing. The one not at the nest would then bring back nesting material or food for their little one.
As we were wrapping up our visit, the female flew over to the tree where the male was, both calling to acknowledge the presence of the other and yielding this cool capture. Wish granted! You get a good look at the size difference between the male (left) and the female (right) here as well.
