That silhouette is pretty much unmistakable as our national emblem cuts a pretty distinctive form.
Normally I wouldn’t have bothered with a shot like this given the lack of light in the pre-dawn hours but I went ahead and too the shot yesterday morning and am glad I did. It is kind of different than what you normally see.
Unfortunately that would be one of the few pics I took at this eagle nest as right after patrolling the lake, the pair headed off for parts unknown. I waited for a couple of hours but they never returned.
