A fun, chance encounter although this reptile almost met its demise. Ending my photo excursion this past Sunday, I started to drive off. Suddenly, I see this long, skinny thing on the road in front of me and swerve to avoid it. Thankfully my maneuver was successful. I got out and was able to snap some pics of the ‘nope rope’ as it crossed the road then disappeared into a crack.
Bull snakes are ‘good’ snakes, eating mice, rats and other rodents and are harmless to humans although will bite if pushed. They do have a trick where they flatten their head and shake their tail to imitate a rattlesnake and seem more threatening.
