I know this image might be tough to see for some but this is nature and oftentimes the things I see out there are not pretty. This coyote was tugging and pulling at a deer’s carcass on a frozen lake yesterday morning before sunrise. It was a long, long shot so this was the only image I got that is worth sharing (kind of).
The deer was not there the day before so I am guessing this happened sometime Saturday night. There is no way to know what led to the deer’s demise – perhaps the weather, perhaps a pack of coyotes. No matter the cause, its loss provided needed sustenance for other wildlife. The circle of life, as it were.
