Coyote senses a presence intruding on its peace

Harkening back to mid-November and an encounter I had with this wily one. It was lounging out in the open field, enjoying a relatively mild late fall day. I stealthily climbed a hill to get a good look and spent some time taking pictures of it. As it looked around, its eyes made their way to me and it was then that it realized it wasn’t alone.

Looking into the sun, it seemed to struggle to decipher exactly what was there, crouched down in the grass looking at it. It stood for a better look, giving me this capture. Soon, it figured out it was a bipedal creature watching it that it wanted no part of and darted off.
