It is pretty rare you get one of these hawks to sit and let you take their picture but this pretty lady did just that. She was quite content to keep watch from her perch while I happily snapped away taking pictures. More often, you will see harriers flying low to the ground over fields and drainages with their head down looking and listening for prey.
