Mama great horned owl is doing well. On my visit this past weekend to check on her, she was sitting much higher in the nest cavity. This allowed me to get this cool capture of her peering out and keeping watch. I am guessing her higher posture was due to growing little ones underneath her although I did not get confirmation of them. Dad was around but he didn’t want his picture taken. The kestrels in the area were hassling him, chasing him from one roost to another. They eventually gave up, but he ended up in a spot that didn’t allow for very good pics.
