An osprey locks eyes with the lens, perched with quiet dominance on a weathered branch – nature’s sentinel surveying its domain. Wrapping up my photo excursion this past weekend, my friend and I spotted a large raptor on a dead tree in the distance. Hoping it was an eagle, we investigated and instead, found this young osprey perched high, keeping watch. Soon, it will soon begin the trek south for the winter.
