Fox kit triplets pose for pictures

A triple-threat of cuteness here, eh? Harkening back to May of 2019 and a red #fox family that had taken up residence in a suburban park not far from me.

Over a period of weeks I spent many, many evenings watching and photographing the vixen and her four kits. Mom was always busy keeping watch on the little ones and ensuring they were fed.

By the time this picture was taken, the kits were about 2/3 the size of mom and would not be around for long. They were bundles of energy, almost always in motion, making it impossible to get pictures of all of them together.

Here, I was lucky enough to get three of the four in one shot when they took very brief break. In the coming weeks, foxes will become more active and the little ones will start to emerge from their dens for the first time.

If you live in northern Colorado and see any, I would welcome (and reward) any tips you might have this spring. Enjoy your Fox Friday and have a great weekend!
