Among my photo stops this weekend were checks on some of the Great Horned Owl nests I have been documenting – and a visit to another I learned about recently. On all three I found the female sitting dutifully on the nest, incubating her eggs. In two of them, she was sitting much higher in the nest than on previous visits so I do have to wonder if the eggs haven’t hatched and little owlets are already underneath. If they haven’t hatched yet, they will soon and then we will have our first look at the little ones soon after!
