Well, this will probably go down as one of my top wildlife encounters of the year. Checking this spot, I saw nothing until my friend said, “It’s right there!” As usual, I was clueless but finally I saw it. This beautiful bobcat was staking out a prairie dog hole, waiting for a victim. For the next half hour, we were privileged to photograph it. While it didn’t do anything “exciting”, it was a fantastic time spent with a creature that is, while common, is uncommonly seen.
