A very fun encounter with this herd east of Denver yesterday. It had been quite a while since I had seen them out there and this time, the herd was bigger than I had ever seen in the area. There were 40+ head and as usual, they were not too inclined to pose for pictures. They did, however, pause briefly for this capture of them in front of the snow-covered foothills. The bright foreground contrasted nicely with the darker, distant mountains which were getting more snow at the time.
