Little yellow warbler brightens up the plains

Most songbirds on the plains are relatively subdued in color, undoubtedly as an adaptation to help keep them hidden. These little guys though, well, clearly they stand out.

On two recent camping trips I kept spotting some of them but they were not proving to be particularly cooperative in letting me get a picture. Finally, on our last day of our most recent trip, one was kind to me and posed for a split second giving me this capture.
