The handsome male from my local bald eagle nest heading off with all the usual drama. Going back to mid-April for this one as I haven’t had a chance to photograph my favorite wildlife subject in quite a while.
On this morning, both parents were spending a good bit of time at the nest, keeping watch over their nestlings. As is the norm, mom was pretty chill but dad, well, he was a bit high strung. He went fishing a couple of times, chased off some invisible invaders (as seen in this shot) and seemed a bit out of sorts with having to care for his new family.
Bald eagle season will be here soon as many of these majestic creatures return to their winter homes on the Colorado plains. I anxiously await!
