Yeah, I would like to hide from it as well. 😀 A somewhat disheveled-looking eastern screech owl peering out from a hiding spot.
This is actually a captive bird, one of the photo subjects from a recent raptor photo shoot with HawkQuest and Mike’s Camera. They did a great job positioning it in a spot just like they are found in the wild – in a small tree cavity.
It has been a few years since I have photographed one in the wild so it was fun to get to see one again, even if captive. The bird was in the process of molting so it wasn’t quite as handsome as usual but still quite cute.
