These high-altitude residents live in some pretty tough conditions. While on this summer morning it was a relatively warm (by that altitude’s standards) 35 degrees, it is only like that for a few months.
Snow will soon be flying again and temperatures plunging making it inhospitable to man. For the mountain goats though, they are well-adapted to survive – and indeed thrive – in those conditions.
Here, one goat lingers on the edge of the mountain, surveying all below. While I certainly got some closer captures of these guys, I kind of like this one, an “environmental capture”, showing the mountain goat and the terrain it calls home.
