I haven’t gotten many pics of my wife’s favorite bird this summer. The opportunities just haven’t presented themselves. However, a few weeks ago I did spend some time with some on the shores of Shadow Mountain Lake near the town of Grand Lake, Colorado. They weren’t particularly active with most just spending their time preening. An additional one did fly in, giving me this pretty capture as it figured out where to land near its friends.
