A fun shot from yesterday morning’s outing. Several pelicans were circling area ponds, looking for breaks in the ice to land in. This one flew right in front of a clouded Mount Meeker and Longs Peak. A few geese and a gull made an appearance as well. It is a bit surprising that some pelicans are still lingering this late in the season but I suspect the recent cold and snow will prompt them to head south soon.
