
A cool little raptor from my outing yesterday. It was chilling out at the top of a tall cottonwood, keeping watch on the surrounding terrain. While it didn’t really “do” anything, I enjoyed watching and photographing it.
Prairie falcons are found across much of the western United States. Here in Colorado, they come to the lower elevations during the winter. During the summer, I have spotted them as high as at 10,000 feet in the mountains.
