Finally! Three weeks ago I was sure these fuzzy heads were there but they refused to show themselves. Yesterday, I took a ‘me day’ off work just to have some fun and get some work done around the house. The morning was spent with my favorite family. It took four hours of sitting and waiting but when they did finally appear, it was entirely worth it. Both look very healthy and as you can see in one of the pics, the siblings even squabbled a bit like human children. ? If I had to guess, the pair is between 3 and 4 weeks old. I have been observing this nest since it was first built in 2017. During that time, they have never successfully fledged two young ones but with how well these look, I am hopeful this year will be the first time. After the tragedy that befell the previous female (bird flu), I am excited to see the new lady has taken over and is doing great as a mom. That is her, by the way, in the wider shot.
