Watchers of the South Platte River

A tip via my page here (Thank you, Des!) led me to check out a spot north of ??Denver? where a Bald Eagle had been rumored to be regularly hanging out. Sure enough, there she was, proudly sitting in the open right next to a busy highway and overlooking the South Platte River?.

After taking a bunch of pictures and waiting 45 minutes, the female was joined by her mate. The two soon flew off together.

I don’t know for a fact but I suspect this is the pair of eagles from a nest site just a couple miles away that saw its three eaglets perish in a late season snowstorm toward the end of April.
