“Who is that guy, mama?”

A little cutie and its mom from our camping trip in Medicine Bow National Forest recently.

This pair was a fixture of my morning outings, the only moose I was able to find reliably. While mama was pretty mellow, she was certainly keenly aware of my presence, alternating between grazing and checking me out. The little one was cautious, sticking close to mom, never straying more than a few feet.

Thus far my moose season has been less than stellar, for the second year in a row. Hoping my luck improves here soon.
