A Great Horned Owl hunkers down and closely watches something that grabbed its attention. I was observing this male recently and all was calm when it suddenly became alerted to something that it did not seem to like.
It lowered itself down and focused its gaze into a neighboring tree. It then looked at me, looked at the other tree, looked at me, then back at the tree. Almost as if it was trying to draw my attention to something. I looked and looked but couldn’t find what had startled it. Kind of amusing but whatever it was, the owl did not seem to like it or appreciated its presence.
