I don’t usually share my images of sub-adult eagles as, to be frank, they just aren’t as cool looking as the adults. It appears most folks feel the same way as the pics of the young ones don’t get the responses on social media either.
However, this 2 to 3 year-old seemed worthy of sharing due to the entire scene. It was patrolling a lake, looking for a meal. As it did, it flew to my west allowing this capture with the snow-capped Rockies in the background. A cool scene, no matter whether the eagle is a young one or an adult.
