Young fox stops in its tracks

This past weekend I stopped by to check on my favorite fox family for the first time in quite a while. I patiently – okay, not so patiently – waited for an hour and finally got a glimpse of one. While the encounter was fleeting, I was happy to see that it was one of the kits of the year, returning to where it was born. The little guy / gal was definitely in the “teenager” stage, looking a bit scrawny and awkward. Heck, check out that crazy tail – it is as big as its body! Nevertheless, fun to see it and while it darted away the second it saw me, it was good to know they were there.
