A fun, unexpected encounter with this cool bird yesterday. As I was sitting and waiting for some action at my favorite bald eagle nest, this woodpecker came by checking out a nearby log. It hopped around, no doubt hoping to find some bugs. While it never found anything to eat, it did give me some fun captures.
