A fun bit of action here! Not long after sunrise, I was observing this female bald eagle, hanging out in a tree not far from her nest. She decided it was time to return home and right after launching, without missing a beat, grabbed a tree branch, broke it off and kept on flying. This sequence captures all the action. I’ve seen them do this many times, but this is the best complete series of images of it I have gotten.
