Following an emotional week that saw the nation lay to rest a former president, we end it with remembering one of the most significant events in our nation’s history.

President George H.W. Bush passed from this earth one week ago and our nation has been mourning the loss of a great American and honoring him since. Yesterday, he completed the journey and was interred in his final resting place in his beloved Texas.

Today, December 7th, is the 77th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, a devastating event that would forever change this nation and the world. 2,335 American servicemembers were killed in the cowardly attack and while it may have briefly brought us to our knees, the men and women of the Greatest Generation bravely stood tall and thwarted the threat to the world.

Today we remember our former president as well as all those who gave their lives on the date which will live in infamy. Fair winds and following seas, shipmates. May you rest in peace. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
