Bald eagles in hot pursuit on a cold, snowy day

Well, this was fun! I had a great photo outing this morning with lots of cool critters in the fresh snow that we are still receiving as I type this.

Near the end of my excursion, I stopped to spend some time with a couple of bald eagles that were patiently waiting the storm out. One had landed a good ways away and as I was watching, another eagle came in like a bat out of hell, taking a swipe at the other.

Next thing I know, both are in the air, and the chase was on. They then fly right by me at Mach one through the driving snow giving me some pretty cool action shots. I had hoped they would lock up and battle but they just continued on their chase, disappearing into the distance. So much fun and well worth enduring the elements.
