My favorite summertime visitors to Colorado have been kind of scarce this year it would seem. I haven’t had much luck finding them and judging by the lack of pictures from my friends and in my photo groups, others aren’t seeing many of them either.
As a result, when I found this one Sunday, I was pretty darned happy. Best of all, the little guy was quite willing to put on a nice show as it flew around the area of its summer home. I did not see a mate, but he did go down into a burrow multiple times so I suspect he was checking on one that may already be sitting on eggs.
