I went today to check out some local owls and while I found one, it was very high in a tree and quite buried in there. With all the leaves I just couldn’t get a decent image.
So, instead, I’ll do a bit of #TBT image of a different owl. Taken back in April, this female Great Horned Owl was returning to her nest and her offspring. It isn’t very often you get to see them in such open surrounding and I count myself very lucky to have been there to capture her. The clear, blue skies really make for a great to her golden plumage lit by sunrise and those amazing bright yellow eyes.
