While out taking pictures yesterday I spotted a bird with a large wingspan flying right toward me. As it got closer I realized it was a Great Blue Heron and it proceeded to fly directly overhead. This made for some very fun pictures as you can tell.
The image gives a great look at its detailed plumage and coloring as well as its funky feet. What I found most interesting were the eyes and how it appears this large heron can actually look straight down while in flight! Kind of neat. You can learn more about this bird here.
