What? How many of you knew seals had claws? I had absolutely no clue until I processed this picture. I might have expected it on the front flippers (which they have as well) but never would have guessed on the rear. Apparently, they are used for grooming, as seen here, and for traction when on land. I got tons of cool pics of these creatures on our recent trip to Alaska and will share more soon.
