The job of a homeowner is never done. Even during the offseason, there is always something that needs fixing. Such is the case with human homes and bald eagle nests.

This past Monday I took a “me day” off of work and decided to pay my favorite pair of eagles a visit. Much to my surprise, and pleasure, both were hanging out at home. With this year’s offspring having fledged and moved out on its own, the adults can enjoy a lot more freedom.

However, being the good parents they are, they still maintain the nest in anticipation of next year’s mating season. I ended up spending a couple of hours with them with the highlight being both departing for brief periods then returning with sticks to add to the nest.

I’ll share some of the pics of them returning from Home Depot in the future but today I share this shot of dad heading out to the “store.”

Have a fantastic Freedom Friday and weekend! TGIF!
