Yeah, there wasn’t much to grab but it didn’t stop the raptor from trying. Unfortunately for it, the branch was far too weak and collapsed under the hawk’s weight. It took it in stride and took flight and departed. For me, I ended up with images of the entire sequence in the failed landing and the following departure. It also gives a great look at where the red tailed hawk gets its name.
