A fun encounter with this high country resident for #MarmotMonday. My friend and I were hiking along an abandoned road, looking for pika when this bigger neighbor of those little ones appeared.
Judging by its smaller stature compared to most marmots, it was a juvenile and seemed quite okay with the guys with the big lenses taking its picture. At one point it was nice enough to climb up onto this rock giving us this nice pose.
