A little bit of love, a little bit of a fight over food for this pair.
The male burrowing owl flew in with a mouse, handing it off to his mate. While she accepted it, she decided to just stand there holding the mouse, rather than partaking in the meal. Well, he seemed to have the attitude, “If you won’t eat it, I am taking it back!”
He then grabbed it back from her as she tried to hold on with a single foot. In the end, he won, pulling it away and delivering it to the burrow for the kids.
As always, these little guys are tons of fun to watch!
