\Seeing one of these majestic, massive raptors take flight is always exciting and an experience that I treasure. When they are posing they look absolutely regal and they certainly seem to know it. You can’t help but be in awe. But when they take flight, that is my favorite. They raise those wings high and bring them down with extraordinary speed, showcasing their 6+ foot wingspan, and pushing the air under them to launch into the air. The intense look in their eyes, an aggression to their face and posture, is just amazing.
I was observing this eagle this past January northeast of Denver, Colorado. It gave me some nice looks and then launched into the air, giving me a nice sequence of images.
I hope you all have a great weekend and please remember to take time out of your beginning of summer activities to acknowledge the real meaning of Memorial Day. Brave men and women have given their lives in service to this nation and were it not for their sacrifice, our lives and our country would be vastly different. We are forever in debt to them for their sacrifice and it is important that we honor them.
