This particular eagle provided a lot of entertainment this past winter. Early mornings and late afternoons it could be found perched high in a bare tree overlooking a suburban park. It never seemed bothered by all the people passing right by the base of its perch.
One afternoon I stopped to take pictures of it in its usual spot and after a while it took flight, coming right over me. It was only then that I realized it had a prairie dog in its talons. Apparently it decided to head somewhere more private to dine.
Taken in Thornton, Colorado, USA.
