Bald Eagle searches the ice’s edge for a meal

A bit of a throwback for Freedom Friday to the beginning of March. The ice on Cherry Creek State Park’s lake was quickly receding as spring neared and temperatures rose. The area Bald Eagles were working hard to stuff their bellies before heading north for the summer. While its friends were happy standing on the ice, this raptor was much more aggressive about hunting. Here, it appeared it spotted a possible catch and briefly pulled up from its flight to get a better look. Have a great weekend!
