Out on our usual weekend photo drive this past weekend, my son and I spent a good bit of time watching and photographing this awesome raptor.
These are my favorite hawks of any. From the coloring of their plumage to that unmistakable ‘joker smile’, I just love their look.
They also are quite tolerant of people making them great photo subjects. They can be found across much of the open country of the western United States and much of Mexico.
