Buck in the bush

With colder temperatures and the rut at its peak, Mule Deer bucks are very active right now and hankering for some loving. 😉 They are following the ladies around, ready and willing to mate when the female gives permission.

This particular big buck was trailing about 20 yards behind two does ensuring they never got out of sight. During this time of year, they will be sniffing the ladies, marking territory and occasionally battling other bucks as you saw in the pics I posted last week.

Taken at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, Colorado.
