Mule Deer doe huddles against the cold and snow

This precious lady was bedded down in some snow, trying to sleep just as the morning sun began to encroach. She had clearly been laying for a while as a bit of snow had fallen on her back and head. It was a beautiful, peaceful scene that I was happy to be able to capture.

Recent days have brought unseasonably cold weather conditions and a bit of snow to the Denver, Colorado area. While as humans we may not care for it, the animals handle it readily and it creates some nice photo opportunities. Taken at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge.?
